ABOUT WAYPOINT

Built by People Who’ve Been Inside the Work

Waypoint Advisory was created by public-sector professionals who’ve worked inside the programs, reviews, handoffs, and documentation pressures that agencies manage every day.

We understand what local teams need to keep the work moving now, and what reviewers will look for when the file is examined later.

Why Waypoint Exists

Public programs often have capable people doing difficult work inside systems that were not designed for clarity. Requirements change, decisions move through several hands, and important context can disappear between meetings or reviews.

Waypoint was created to help close that gap. We bring experienced support to the point where funding requirements and daily program work meet, with a focus on making the work easier to manage and easier to defend.

We’ve Seen the Work From Both Sides

Our experience includes applicant-facing support and state-administered program work. That perspective helps us understand the pressure on local teams while also recognizing the questions reviewers are likely to ask later.

A Different Delivery Model, Built From Experience

Waypoint is a newer firm, but the people doing the work bring years of direct public-sector program experience. Clients are working with professionals who understand the work because they’ve already been responsible for it.

Leadership

Joseph “Joey” Gallo, CEM, CGMS

Founder and Principal
Certified Emergency Manager | Certified Grants Management Specialist

Joey founded Waypoint after years of working inside public programs and seeing the same problem repeat itself: capable people were being asked to do difficult work inside systems that made everything harder than it needed to be.

His approach starts with how the work actually happens. He looks at where things are getting stuck, what staff need to move forward, and what will make the process easier to manage later. Sometimes that means better documentation or clearer guidance. Sometimes it means changing the workflow itself.

He also believes experienced people should stay close to the work. Clients should not meet the senior team during the proposal and then rarely see them again. Waypoint was built around direct involvement and clear accountability, with support that works in practice, not just on paper.
